Participants will gather information to complete a project related to their current studies while traveling throughout Ghana visiting Greater Accra, the Volta Region, Central Region, and Cape Coast. Project topic examples include, but are not limited to sustainable management of land and environment, food security and emergency preparedness, science and technology applied in food and agriculture development, reduced emissions for deforestation and degradation, wildlife management and public awareness. Students will also have an opportunity to aid Ghanaian citizens during visits to schools and hospitals.
oin us on this exploration of Brazil! We will start in Rio De Janeiro, move on to Iguassu Falls (Iguazu Falls), next to Manaus and the Amazon and finally Salvador.
Day 1 - Depart from U.S. in the evening
Day 2 - RIO DE JANEIRO
Arrive in Rio, guide assistance during transfer.
Accommodation in selected hotel. Explore Rio at your leisure.
Day 3 - RIO DE JANEIRO
Breakfast. Half day tour of Sugar Loaf with guide
assistance. Afternoon at your leisure.
Day 4 - RIO DE JANEIRO
After breakfast, half day tour to Corcovado with guide assistance. Afternoon at your leisure, farewell dinner at a local Brazilian barbecue restaurant.
Day 5 - RIO DE JANEIRO / IGUASSU FALLS
Breakfast. Departure to Rio Airport for a flight to Iguassu Falls. Arrival, guide assistance and transfer to selected hotel. Afternoon tour to the Brazilian Falls.
Day 6 - IGUASSU FALLS
After breakfast, tour of Iguassu Falls on the Argentinean side with guide assistance.
Return to hotel and overnight.
Day 7 - After breakfast, visit the monkey jungle. Check-out of hotel and departure for flight to Manaus.
Day 7 through 9 - IGUASSU FALLS - MANAUS - AMAZON FOREST
Breakfast and transfer to Iguassu Airport to depart on flight to Manaus. Guide assistance
upon arrival and transfer to Amazon Ecopark Lodge.
1st day - Reception with local juice after which guests will be shown to rooms. Dinner and evening tour by canoe for alligator watching.
2nd day - Breakfast, nature hike and regional lunch. After brief rest, visit the home of local Amazonian residents (“caboclos”) with an opportunity for piranha fishing.
Tours: nature hike , monkey forest , visit to a native community , fishing and evening tour in canoe to enjoy the sound of the nature.
Day 9 - AMAZON FOREST - MANAUS - SALVADOR
Arrival at Salvador, guide assistance and transfer to hotel.
Day 10 - SALVADOR
Breakfast, followed by a half day city tour. Afternoon at your leisure.
Day 11 - SALVADOR
Breakfast. Departure to Salvador airport for departure to U.S.
Day 12 - Morning arrival in U.S.
